How it works

  1. Paste your card list. Copy names and addresses from Excel or Google Sheets, with the heading row, or upload the file. Each row becomes one label.
  2. Pick a sheet. Use Avery® 5160 for address labels, or Avery® 5167 for return address labels. Both are on the 5160 page and the 5167 page.
  3. Make it festive and print. Type a look in plain words, such as make it red and green. Print a test page on plain paper, then print at 100%.

Which sheet for which label

Most Christmas jobs need one of four sizes. Start with the one that fits your envelopes.

JobSheetSizePer sheet
Address labels for cardsAvery® 51601" × 2⅝"30
Longer addressesAvery® 51611" × 4"20
Return address labelsAvery® 5167½" × 1¾"80
Gift or food labelsAvery® 51632" × 4"10

For a 75-card list on Avery® 5160, print 3 sheets. Each sheet holds 30 labels, so you get 90 spaces.

Set up your card list

Use one row for each household, not each person. Put the name, street, city, state and ZIP code in separate columns, so you can check each part quickly. Sort the list by ZIP code if you want to match the order of your stamps or your post route.

Check the list before you print. Look for names with two spellings, missing apartment numbers and addresses with no postal code. The list is much easier to fix in the spreadsheet than on a printed sheet.

For return address labels, you do not need a list at all. Type your return address once as the wording, and print it on Avery® 5167. Print the return labels on their own sheet, so they do not mix with the address labels.

Ideas you can type

Type a change in plain words, and the AI helper applies it to every label:

  • "Make the labels red and green"
  • "Use an elegant font for the names"
  • "Sort by ZIP so the cards go out in order"
  • "Make the labels where State is Ohio green"
  • "Put the family name on its own line in big letters"

Gift and food labels

The same sheets work for gift tags and food labels. Keep the text short, so it fits on the label. Avery® 5163 gives you room for a name and a short message on each jar or box. For round labels, see the gift tag template page.

Tips

  • Start your list early. Addresses take longer to check than to print.
  • Print one test sheet on plain paper first, then hold it over a label sheet.
  • Print at 100% or Actual size, so the labels line up with the sheet.
  • Keep the festive picture small, so the address stays easy to read.
